Creativity and AI

Creativity, often perceived as a divine gift, is in reality the fruit of hard work. In my exploration of the art world, I've been able to deconstruct the romantic idea of the born artist and highlight the laborious reality of the creative process. Art and the processes that lead to artistic creation are more about work than enlightenment.

With the advent of generative artificial intelligence, creativity seems to be becoming more accessible. Generative AI opens up new perspectives in the production of images and identity. But can AI really be creative, i.e. go beyond interpreting instructions?

While a powerful tool, generative AIs lack the emotions, divergent thinking and passion that nurture creativity. The very notion of culture that corresponds to the training oracles of generative AIs remains limited for AIs, which regurgitate what has been selected for them.

I invite you to read my article in IALS magazine, in which I explore in detail the human and artificial experience of creativity and art.
