The Non Fungible Conference 2023
The Non Fungible Conference (NFC) in Lisbon, one of Europe's leading events dedicated to Non Fungible Tokens (NFT), took place from June 7 to 9. Led by John Karp, Gauthier Zuppinger and Jen Nahmias, the conference was distinguished by its emphasis on artistic innovation, best practices and feedback, in all humility.
Leading NFT artists, who remained anonymous during their "Blind Talk", presented their work on the 360° immersive Main Stage, while pioneers such as Pascal Boyart and the Hackatao duo shared their experiences. One artist, Bobards, testified to the significant impact of NFT on his career, enabling a direct connection with a global audience. Hackatao's contribution to establishing royalties for artists on NFT marketplaces was also praised.
Outside the hustle and bustle of the conference, meetings took place at the "Villa des artistes". La Monnaie de Paris unveiled an exhibition project of evolving NFT works by Robert Alice, in collaboration with La Collection. Arab Bank Suisse presented the first international NFT art prize, won by Marjan Moghaddam for "Glitch Intaleqi".
The artists expressed their gratitude for the new opportunities offered by NFT technology. Tyler Hobbs, a leading figure in generative art, emphasized the independence and freedom that blockchain offers him. Despite the Hype of 2021 behind us, the NFT ecosystem remains dynamic and creative, as evidenced by the many participative talks, experience sharing and presentations by passionate artists. The Lisbon NFC thus confirms the importance of NFT as a tool for artistic and economic transformation. A magnificent and exciting second edition.
